Certifications & Compliance — CE, ISO 9001, SGS for Filling Machines

1. What each certificate means

ISO 9001 is a quality-management system standard — it governs how the line is designed, built and documented, not the machine's performance. CE marks conformity to EU machinery, low-voltage and EMC rules. SGS is an independent auditor that verifies claims and practices. Together they are the document trail a buyer uses to import, commission and pass audit.

The marks only help if the certificate is current and the scope matches the equipment. Ask for the number and validity.

2. Why they matter when buying

A line is a multi-year asset shipped halfway around the world. Certifications are the part of the purchase you can verify before it arrives: they show the build follows a standard, the electrical and safety design is reviewed, and an independent party has looked. For export that document trail is what customs and auditors ask for.

3. ISO 9001 — the quality system

ISO 9001 does not certify a machine; it certifies that the supplier runs a documented quality system — design control, incoming inspection, traceability, calibration, non-conformance handling. For a buyer it means the line is built the same way twice and problems are traceable. It underpins every other claim.

For a combiblock or any line, ask how the quality system is applied to your order: inspection points, test runs, and the documentation pack you receive at FAT.

4. CE — EU machinery conformity

CE confirms the machine meets EU machinery, low-voltage and electromagnetic-compatibility rules. It is the conformity basis for the EU/EEA market and a recognised safety benchmark elsewhere. It is not a performance certificate and it does not replace EAC for the EAEU.

If you export to the EU, confirm the CE scope covers the full line, including electrical panels and any integrated equipment, not just the filler.

5. SGS — third-party audit

SGS is an independent verification — it checks that claimed practices (factory, materials, testing) hold up to an external standard. For a buyer it is a second opinion you did not have to arrange, useful when you cannot visit the plant yourself.

Treat SGS as confirmation of the supplier's own system, not a substitute for your own inspection at FAT. The inspection and FAT guide covers what to witness before shipment.

6. For the EAEU / EAC market

For Kazakhstan and the EAEU, these certificates feed the technical file for EAC certification. ISO 9001 and CE do not replace EAC, but they shorten the audit because the underlying evidence already exists. Plan EAC in parallel with manufacturing — see the EAC guide.

7. What to ask the supplier
