Sunswell recently completed the full line connection and assembly of an automatic barrel water filling line. Rated at 1800 barrels per hour based on the standard 18.9L format, the line covers the entire process from empty barrel decapping, external brushing, barrel feeding, washing/filling/capping, to light inspection and shrink wrapping. It is scheduled for shipment to a customer site, marking another delivery milestone in Sunswell’s barrel water equipment portfolio.
The heart of the line is a washingfillingcapping monobloc with 10 washing stations: alkaline washing, drip-off, reclaimed water rinsing (two stations), disinfectant rinsing (two stations), drip-off, purified water rinsing (two stations), and final drip-off. Equipped with rotary spray nozzles, the washing system ensures thorough internal cleaning of every barrel. The monobloc features one filling head with timerbased filling and adjustable fill volume, combined with a tracktype capping system and an automatic cap sorter for consistent sealing quality. Upstream units include a fully automatic decapper, an external brush cleaner (capable of cleaning both the body and the bottom), and an automatic barrel loader; downstream there is a light inspection station, stainless steel chain conveyors, and a shrink tunnel, forming a complete production flow.
Two practical hygiene features are built into the system. First, the monobloc incorporates an integrated cap sterilization system, reducing microbiological risks at the source. Second, the entire line is constructed with 304 stainless steel frames and panels, and components are sourced from reputable brands such as Schneider (contactors), Autonics (photoelectric sensors), and Siemens (PLC and touchscreen), ensuring durability and precise control. A remote diagnostic module is also included, allowing for convenient aftersales support and software updates.
Full mechanical assembly is now complete, and engineers are carrying out final performance trials and waterrun tests. The completion of this line not only demonstrates Sunswell’s manufacturing capability in barrel water equipment, but also reaffirms the company’s ability to deliver costeffective, completeline solutions across different packaging formats – from PET bottles to largevolume barrels.
A company representative commented: “Barrel water lines may run at lower speeds than bottle lines, but customers hold the same high standards for washing effectiveness and filling hygiene. Our multistage rinsing process and mature automation control ensure that every barrel is safe and reliable. We’ll continue to stay focused on building solid equipment and delivering dependable service – that’s what brings customers back.”
The line is expected to be packed and shipped soon after testing is completed, heading to its new home for operation.
